After a scenic drive down the west coast, we arrive at the tiny village of Tembowong. The big island of Gili Gede (“Gili” means island and “Gede” means big) sits so close to the shore it seems like part of the mainland. We hop into the small outrigger boat and putt along the shores of the island, checking out the sandy beaches and hills that run like a ridge down the back of this big island in Southwest Lombok.
Before long we pull up to a pretty beach with crystal clear water lapping on the white sand, sheltered by a shady grove of palm trees. Here a golf cart is waiting to whisk us to the top of the hill – and to amazing Villa Selalu!
