MUCK DIVING… TELUK NARA!

In Indonesia there is a world-famous diving area off the coast of Sulawesi called the Lembeh Strait. One of the reasons this area is famous is that the seabed is made up of fine black sand, which means that one wrong kick and the visibility can drop to practically nothing.

SENARU… NATIONAL PARK AND WATERFALLS

The road from Bayan leads to Senaru, the gateway to the Rinjani National Park. Senaru is a pretty village set in lovely scenery with fantastic views of the volcanic mountain range. There is a good selection of accommodation available in the area, ranging from basic backpacker home-stays to nice cottages and, whether you climb the mountain or not, Senaru is a nice place for a short stay.

There are two golf courses in Lombok -- one located in the northwest with fabulous views of the ocean and with Mt Rinjani visible to the east; the other located inland on the cool southern foothills of Mt Rinjani amidst the lush greenery of the Lombok countryside.
