Kuta has a new addition to its local shopping scene with the recent completion of the Oceanside Mandalika.
The large white Colonial-style building occupies a prime location on Jalan Pariwisata Pantai Kuta, opposite Kemangi Restaurant.
The anchor tenant of the property is the Montana @ Oceanside Mandalika hotel – a 3-star hotel with 48 rooms and an onsite restaurant serving breakfast and Indonesian cuisine.
Accommodation ranges from standard and superior double and twin rooms, to junior suite and executive suite options. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite television, and Wi-Fi, and are in walking distance to the beach and central Kuta shops and restaurants.
In addition to the hotel, the property is being marketed as an outdoor retail village with space for twenty-two shops and dining outlets, and six outdoor garden cafés. There is also a 350 sqm co-working space available.
When we visited, the popular oleh-oleh centre Sasaku has opened an outlet on the far right of the complex. The store has a great range of gifts and souvenirs (oleh-oleh).
Inside you’ll find a good selection of t-shirts and shirts for men, as well as children’s clothing and some summer dresses, pants and tops for women. There are also shoes, handbags and hats to complete your beach wardrobe.
Pick up a pretty hand-crafted basket or trinket box to take home as a gift, a traditional sarong, massage oils, or some Lombok coffee. There is also some lovely pearl jewellery, for which Lombok is famous.
Now that the shopping village is completed, we’re looking forward to seeing more tenants move in over the coming months to create a lively shopping and café scene for Kuta.
