FREEDIVE

Want to learn to dive without the restrictions of scuba tanks and all the equipment? Freediving is the art of controlling your breath underwater to allow you to dive in freedom and explore the ocean in a more intimate way.

Freediving allows you to swim and dive wherever you want, as long as you can hold your breath. Experienced freedivers commonly can dive to 30m and more without the use of scuba equipment. Self-awareness is an important part of the sport and many describe it as a form of meditation and deeply relaxing stress-relief.

getting around

Getting to Lombok

Lombok – unspoiled natural beauty, stunning uncrowded beaches and laid-back charm defines the island’s essence…

Getting to the Gilis

When travellers make the boat crossing between Bali and Lombok, they probably don’t realise they are not only crossing one of the deepest bodies of water in the world, but also crossing a transitional zone between Asia and Australia.

Getting Around the Island

Lombok is proudly home to some outstanding restaurants and the culinary scene is expanding all the time – from simple cafés serving traditional Sasak dishes filled with the tantalising flavours of Indonesian spices, to innovative restaurants where renowned chefs curate menus that redefine the boundaries of taste.

places to visit

West Lombok

Pura Narmada (or Narmada Temple), around 10 km east of Cakranegara in Narmada, was created circa 1805 as a replica of Gunung Rinjani and Segara Anak, the lake within Rinjani's crater. The gardens at Narmada are beautifully maintained and surround the pools and lake.

Southcoast Lombok

Located around 60 km south of Mataram, Kuta (sometimes spelt Kute) is the main town and tourism centre on the south coast of Lombok, and is the gateway for exploring the fantastic south coast and the many places of interest in the region.

Southwest Lombok

Southwest Lombok... a meandering coastline of pristine white sand beaches and thirteen small islands - the Southwest Gilis - floating in the sparkling turquoise waters just offshore.

North Lombok

Lombok is proudly home to some outstanding restaurants and the culinary scene is expanding all the time – from simple cafés serving traditional Sasak dishes filled with the tantalising flavours of Indonesian spices, to innovative restaurants where renowned chefs curate menus that redefine the boundaries of taste.

Central Lombok

When the main tourism areas in Lombok get too busy, a day trip across the island is a great way to get away from the crowds and see the “real face” of the island.

East Lombok

The east of the island is the least visited and developed area of Lombok, although there are large towns and a thriving local population. Most people visit the area to catch inter-island ferries across to neighbouring Sumbawa, en-route to the islands of Komodo and Flores in the east.

the Gilis

Gili Trawangan, or “Gili T” as its affectionately known, is the largest and most developed of the three Gilis, with the greatest range of facilities and activities.
