Local media, including the trusted Indonesian news source antaranews.com, are reporting that Garuda Indonesia will commence operating a new direct international flight between Lombok and Guangzhou in China.

Garuda Indonesia, working with the Provincial Government of NTB, are said to be keen to capture the lucrative Chinese market, which is currently the second highest source of tourism arrivals into Bali (after Australia in number one position).

Catching a taxi in Lombok has never been easier now that Blue Bird Taxi Group has introduced its new ‘My Blue Bird’ application.

MASTERCHEFS IN THE WILD @ QUNCI VILLAS!

Guests at Quah Restaurant in Qunci Villas were treated to a magnificent gourmet dinner prepared by MasterChef Indonesia winner and celebrity chef, Lucky Andreono, together with Qunci resident chef, Gianluca Viscaglia.

The 7-course Italian-Asian degustation dinner, accompanied by Australian wines from sponsors Panca Lombok Niaga and Rawson’s Retreat, was another successful event in Qunci’s ‘Chefs in the Wild’ series.

RINJANI TREKKING SEASON CLOSED

This is a reminder to readers that the Mount Rinjani National Park Authority officially closed Rinjani volcano to trekking, effective from 1 January to 31 March 2017.

All tourist gateways to Mount Rinjani – including Sembalun, Senaru, Torean and Timbanuh – are now closed.

The Authority normally closes Lombok’s famous tourist attraction to trekking in January every year to protect tourists from dangers caused by bad weather during the monsoon season.
