The south coast of Lombok is booming and nowhere is this more evident than on the dramatic hills lining the coast from Kuta to Selong Belanak.
One development that is getting a lot of attention is the stunning Aura Lounge and Bar at Selong Selo Residences, situated in the hills of Jabon above Selong Belanak – just 25 minutes from Lombok International Airport and around 30 minutes west of Kuta.
LOMBOK AUTHORITIES TRY FOR DIRECT AUSTRALIA FLIGHTS
More than two years after the suspension of the Jetstar direct Perth-Lombok flights, Lombok authorities have visited Australia to try to woo the airline back.
The Vice Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, M Amin, visited Australia this month, together with the General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (the national airport authority), and the Head of the local Department of Tourism.

To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, the chic beachfront venue at Sempiak Villas hosted a wonderful party for guests who enjoyed delicious food and drinks, a DJ and games, fabulous ticket prizes, and a bonfire on the beach with marshmallows to toast. The night finished with an explosion of fireworks across the sea and wishing lanterns floating into the night sky!
Lombok was well-represented at the prestigious World Travel Market in London this year. World Travel Market (WTM) is the leading global event for the worldwide travel and tourism industry.
The three-day event, held from 7 - 9 November at ExCeL London exhibition centre, was the most successful ever with a joint-record attendance of 51,500 and the highest number of invitees and buyers in the event’s 37 year history.
The Kuta community came together at a Charity Auction to “Stand Together with Standing Rock” on 15 November.
Organised by Gemma from Mimpi Manis Home Stay and hosted at Pipe Dream Villas in Kuta, the auction raised funds to support Shiyé Bidzííl, a Native American who has been at Standing Rock for months providing drone coverage of the action to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline, under the name “Dr0ne2Bwild”. His drone was shot down and destroyed by police.
