AUSTRALIA VISA FREE AT LAST!

After many months of “maybe, or maybe not”, Indonesia has extended visa free privileges to Australians.

The Presidential Decree signed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on 2 March 2016 expanded the list of countries to be given free visas on arrival (VOA) in Indonesia to a total of 169 countries.

COCOTINOS... Southwest Escape!

Since it first opened in 2010, Cocotinos Boutique Resort has established itself as one of the premier places to stay in Sekotong on Lombok’s southwest coast.

WORLD WATER DAY WITH SQUIDLY COLE

Thousands of people joined in the celebrations for World Water Day 2016 held in Ampenan on 26 March.

A special floating stage was erected on the Jangkok River in Ampenan where famous Jamaican reggae musician Squidly Cole, together with local musicians, hosted a free concert titled Suara Sungai (Sound of the River).

MELIÁ HOTELS TO BUILD RESORT ON GILI TANGKONG

The idyllic islands of the southwest continue to attract plenty of attention, with the prestigious Meliá Hotel Group announcing that they will build a five-star resort on the small island of Gili Tangkong – an almost deserted 15-hectare paradise island in Lombok.

Gili Tangkong is one of three small islands located in the bay of Tawun in Sekotong. To the left of the island is Gili Nanggu – already well-known as a popular snorkelling spot and island escape in the southwest – and to the right is Gili Sudat.

TIGERAIR AUSTRALIA COMMENCES BALI – AUSTRALIA FLIGHTS

Tigerair Australia went international on 24 March 2016, when its inaugural flights to Bali departed from Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

The first Tigerair Australia flight, using a Boeing 737-800, left Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport at 9:30 am local time for the 5 and a half hour flight to Bali.
