LOMBOK CITY CENTER… 2nd Matahari Department Store Opens in Lombok!
Lombok’s second shopping mall to open this year – Lombok City Center – is off to a great start with the opening of the second Matahari Department Store in Lombok.
Hundreds of people attended the Matahari DS official opening ceremony on 28 November 2015, which featured traditional dancing and entertainment. They then flocked the department store, taking advantage of special opening discounts of up to 70%.
Dinas Sosial Kependudukan Dan Catatan Sipil Prov NTB has released the latest figures from the 2015 Census showing that the population of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) – the two islands of Lombok and Sumbawa – continues to grow at a rapid pace.
According to the census, a total of 5,164,618 people are now living on the two islands.
The on-going woes of electricity problems in Lombok have sparked an investigation into the troubled Jeranjang Power Plant in West Lombok.
In an effort to increase electricity supply on the island, the government commissioned construction of the Jeranjang Power Plant near Gerung in West Lombok and the project was commenced at the end of April, 2009.
