Kebun Villas on the main street in Senggigi (opposite the Sheraton) has almost completed construction of their new street-side coffee shop Gula Gila and is due to open in the coming week.

The resort has been busy training their barristers in the art of making fabulous coffee, while the pastry team has been trying out delicious cakes and sweets for months in anticipation of the opening.

J. CO AND BREAD TALK NOW OPEN AT EPICENTRUM

The Lombok Epicentrum Mall continues to evolve almost weekly, with J.  CO and Bread Talk being the latest retailers to open their doors in the mall – both stores are firsts for Lombok!

VIP guests at the official opening on 4 December were treated to gift bags of products – delicious donuts from J. CO and a selection of popular bread products and baked goods from Bread Talk.

LOMBOK CITY CENTER… 2nd Matahari Department Store Opens in Lombok!

Lombok’s second shopping mall to open this year – Lombok City Center – is off to a great start with the opening of the second Matahari Department Store in Lombok.

Hundreds of people attended the Matahari DS official opening ceremony on 28 November 2015, which featured traditional dancing and entertainment. They then flocked the department store, taking advantage of special opening discounts of up to 70%.

LOMBOK’S GROWING POPULATION

Dinas Sosial Kependudukan Dan Catatan Sipil Prov NTB has released the latest figures from the 2015 Census showing that the population of Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) – the two islands of Lombok and Sumbawa – continues to grow at a rapid pace.

According to the census, a total of 5,164,618 people are now living on the two islands.

PLN KEEPING EVERYONE IN THE DARK

The on-going woes of electricity problems in Lombok have sparked an investigation into the troubled Jeranjang Power Plant in West Lombok.

In an effort to increase electricity supply on the island, the government commissioned construction of the Jeranjang Power Plant near Gerung in West Lombok and the project was commenced at the end of April, 2009.
