With the Central Statistics Agency reporting a 214% increase in tourism arrivals to Lombok in the first three months of this year, more people than ever are visiting our island paradise!
Book a flight now with Jetstar, Air Asia, or Singapore Airlines – or hop across from Bali, Jakarta and other capitals – and fall in love with Lombok’s stunning beaches and islands, fascinating culture and unspoiled natural beauty.
With tourism arrivals to Lombok increasing at a rapid rate – particularly the number of overseas tourists arriving on Air Asia and Jetstar flights – it is time that PT Angkasa Pura, the Central Lombok Government and the Governor, Zainul Madjdi, took a hard look at how they are allowing Lombok International Airport to operate and the image they are creating for guests visiting Lombok.
As we reported in Issue 164 of The Lombok Guide (published 31 March 2014), the Forestry Ministry has dramatically increased fees for people climbing Mt Rinjani.
This year, Indonesia’s Kementerian Kehutanan, the Forestry Ministry, increased the fee for tourists climbing Lombok’s famous volcano from Rp 150,000 per person “per trip” to Rp 250,000 per person per day!
• After an outstanding dinner at Quah Restaurant at Qunci Villas the other night, we discovered that the talented kitchen team is now making its own range of specialty ice creams!
Super rich, creamy and smooth, guests can choose from popular flavours of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, or exotic tastes of honey or coconut, or tangy fruit blends of lime, orange or soursop (the delicous local variety of custard apple).
A very special event will take place in Lombok this month when the Bali Diva Community visits our shores for the first time.
Around 25 divas from Bali will stay at the stylish Qunci Villas in Mangsit to spend a weekend getting to know Lombok and will be joined by another 25 of their counterparts living in Lombok at the “Qunci Diva Lunch” on Saturday, 24 May.
