One of Lombok’s most important and popular festivals is “Bau Nyale”, a unique event that attracts thousands of visitors to the south coast every year. Many travellers to Lombok plan their trip to coincide with Bau Nyale.
This year’s festival will be held on Wednesday, 19 and Thursday, 20 February.

The Senggigi Hackers Amateur Golf Society (SHAGS) played their annual Boxing Day Tournament on 26 December, 2013 at Kosaido Country Club in North Lombok.
Four teams of mixed handicappers competed in the Texas Scramble Tournament. The winning team, taking home the shield, comprised Max, Gerard, Bryce and Peter. The golfers celebrated afterwards at The Office Bar and Restaurant in Senggigi.

Fast boat services to the Gilis and Lombok have been suspended several times recently, due to strong winds and high waves making conditions in the Lombok Strait (the sea between Bali and Lombok) dangerous. Waves up to 5 metres high have been reported.
