To celebrate “World Oceans Day” on 8 June 2013, Trawangan Dive on Gili Trawangan hosted an amazing Finathon / Triathlon in conjunction with Project Aware and the Gili Eco Trust.
The Trawangan Dive and Gili Eco Trust ‘Finathon & Triathlon’ was a full day event that involved local people, dive shops and businesses on the island. The Senggigi Festival is Lombok’s most colourful and spectacular event of the year. The annual Senggigi Festival is scheduled to take place from Monday, 1 July to Thursday, 4 July, 2013.

The sun has just risen and pure, clear light floods the mountains and valleys surrounding Sembalun Bumbang, a town perched high on the northeast shoulder of Mt Rinjani, 1,065 meters above sea level.
The normally quiet town is crowded with thousands of visitors today, as people flock from across Indonesia and throughout Lombok to witness an ancient ritual that has been practiced in this village for hundreds of years.

My boyfriend wanted to paint the outside orange and black but I wanted to paint the whole thing pink. We argued for days over the colour scheme and eventually decided to compromise by painting orange and black on the outside and pink on the inside.
Good day everyone and welcome to the beautiful islands of Lombok and the Gilis! Things are amping up over in the Gilis, as Lombok gets ready for its high season. With so many great places to eat on Gili T, it’s been fun so far and I have just employed a new good chef who I’m training and will feature him in the next issue.
This issue’s recipe is a dish found everywhere around Indonesia and SE Asia… the famous Chicken Satay.
