BALI’S NEW UNDERPASS OPEN SOON

Tourists and regular visitors to Bali will be happy to hear that work on the new Simpang Siur Underpass in Kuta is almost complete.

Construction of the underpass has created traffic jams for many months now and has added extra travel time to transfers between Bali’s airport and areas north of Kuta.

IN GOOD TASTE

It’s been a crazy busy month over here on Gili T but I’m really starting to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Gilis (no motorbikes and no 5am loudspeakers near me). I’ve got some big improvments at the resort keeping me busy but, as I’ve been a chef for 22 years, it’s hard to keep me out of my kitchen!!!

This week I’m sharing the world famous Thai Green Curry Chicken recipe with you. I learned to make this dish a few months ago when I was studying Thai cooking in Chiang Mai and it is a fantastic and easy dish, which has been selling very well at The Terminal Restaurant on Gili T.

PRELIMINARY FINDINGS BLAME PILOTS FOR LION AIR CRASH

Indonesia’s largest low-cost carrier Lion Air has been criticised after a preliminary investigation into last month’s Boeing 737 crash off Bali found a young, second-in-command pilot was at the controls at a “critical time.”

The National Transportation Safety Committee said in a report that the budget carrier should immediately implement a number of safety measures related to landing procedures carried out by pilots, as well as to ensure pilots are properly trained.
